PROPER MASSES
AND LECTIONARY OF THE SOCIETY OF JESUS This is a Supplement to the Roman Missal and Lectionary, Proper to the Society of Jesus. It celebrates the liturgical feasts of all Jesuit Saints and Blessed. In 2010, Hedwig Lewis SJ sent a draft of an updated edition of the existing Supplement for approval to the Jesuit Postulator General in Rome. He considered this a good initiative and entrusted the Assistant PG (who does not wish to be named) to follow up on the idea. Eventually, with the help of a Jesuit liturgist in the USA (who, also wishes to be anonymous), the original Latin texts were updated and translated into English. The Vatican’s Congregation for Divine Worship and Discipline of the Sacraments approved the Latin Proper Masses and Lectionary of the Society of Jesus on 29 August 2013. The English translation was approved on 27 January 2014. Gujarat Sahitya Prakash was given exclusive international rights to publish it. Updated Edition in 2019.
